This watch has nice heft and a very solid-feeling case.
It keeps excellent time--indistingishable from quartz clocks I have.
I will say that the face of the watch is visually busy--it is pleasant to scrutinize,
but a bit tricky to read, as it has the mainspring visible above of "6"; it has a night-day
indicator and a 24-hour dial. (The last is pretty redundant; if
cute, it is tiny.) The watch does not have a date indicator, oddly,
which I would rate as more useful than those other indicators.
The hands of the watch are quite thin and the face of the watch is
actually mostly a deep gold color--in the photos this gold shows as
being closer to white; only in some angles does it look so pale.
So the tiny black hands can be a bit lost among the spring, indicator dials,
and the roman numerals. It is not as easy to read as a classic "railroad" watch,
but it is quirky and elegant. This may also be the only watch in its price class
to be made in Germany. Ruhla Gardé is an outgrowth of an old DDR (East German)
company. The watch seems well-made; its stand works quite well.
