Anyone that owns a Santos 100 knows the strap's lug ends use a special insert to fit it perfectly to the case. Without the insert it's near impossible to have a custom strap made.

Sure you can purchase a gen from Cartier or a dealer but expect to pay $400+ and that's only for alligator, not an exotic. The other option is to search online for a used gen strap. The problem with that is the deployment buckle the Santos uses leaves a big indentation in the strap which can't be worked out. So unless your wrist size is exactly like that of the straps previous owner the strap will have an ugly, very noticeable crease in it.

That's where a fairly inexpensive ( $64) rep strap band like this comes in very handy! My custom strap maker removes and uses the inserts for this strap to make a brand new custom strap. You might think that spending $64 for the inserts is high, but to get a one of a kind, custom made strap in an exotic, it's worth it!
