This is a *terrific* piece of kit. I was dubious -- both because of the low price, and because of my general disdain for "marketplace" vendors, thanks to the history of disappointment I've had with them. But, it was a small enough amount of money to take a chance... I am *so* happy I did.

This is a surprisingly nice item. It's a definite upgrade for any department-store-level watch, and comparable to -- at least -- low-mid luxury watches. The color is consistent and rich, the steel is (reasonably) solid, the clasp mechanism (reasonably) precise, and the rubber soft yet durable-seeming (so far). The clasp is simple and without the elegant branding and fine detail of high-end watches, but it's a generic replacement, so that's appropriate.

If there's any criticism to be found, it's in the packaging -- it is very utilitarian and devoid of any instructions: Just a plastic bag and some bubble wrap. Definitely not something I would want to give as a gift as-is. More "target market is watch shops that will turn around and mark it up 3-5x" than "home consumer." Fortunately, replacing a watch band isn't rocket surgery, and I think saving money around packaging / literature / etc is a good idea, if that money was spent making a higher quality product [and|or] a lower price, and that sure seems to be the case. Further, reducing shipping weight/packaging can only be a good thing! It's just -very- utilitarian and doesn't make much of an impression... until you open it and get to the band itself.

One particular point is worth noting for those of you who own a watch identical to mine: This band, specifically (and I'm guessing the blue is consistent across other textures, but can't guarantee it), is a -perfect- match for the Citizen Stars and Stripes America's Cup watch from a while back -- the blue is a -perfect- match for the blue highlights on the face, and the band style really both modernizes and dresses up the watch, especially compared to the boring, hard-to-find, and expensive (if you find it) OEM black-with-course-layout original. In fact, it's a better color match than a friend's $$$$ Tissot OEM band/face. A -very- nice upgrade, to the point that I am actually glad that my original disintegrated and forced me to replace it!

Finally, the seller (third-party / marketplace vendor "Modena Watches," in my case) went WAY ABOVE AND BEYOND to resolve a problem -- that I created myself! Way above. All cases will be different, of course, but I've had third parties that wouldn't even acknowledge their own error... Modena is a rare wonder. I held my breath when I ordered, as I usually stay far, FAR away from third-party vendors, but I shouldn't have worried one bit. "Responsive" and "helpful" don't even begin to describe them, at least with me.

The combination of the quality (and, again, not "for the price" -- at any price, for a synthetic band) and service have me eyeing every one of my perfectly fine watches, and figuring out which one is getting the next upgrade!
