I bought one of these at Kumoricon, an anime convention (oddly enough). I collect (old) watches and clock, so it was a nice find. Near identical to this one, although nearly twice the price (I'm not sure if I was just "ripped off" or that this is not the same watch. The image is the same so I am assuming it is the same). I would not suggest this for use as an actual watch, as you (like almost all wind up watches) have to set it each morning and sometimes it goes too slow or too fast.

Defaults: After some time of wearing it around my neck, the chain's black-ish plating has eroded and revealed a copper-like color, although it's an easy fix to find some higher quality chain at a crafts store and replace it. The cover isn't even, as it hangs off a bit on one side. Dirt/dust constantly gets in the joint, courtesy of the "door" (not that this is a default, just something to note. If you don't like cleaning it, don't buy it.) The covers on the back and front are plastic, but are firmly attached, but they can be "broken" (meaning they spin around loosely) if you put too much pressure on it (something my friend discovered when she was holding it). Two visible gears are a yellow plastic. Some dirt (or something like that) is in the mechanism, which greatly annoys me.

If this is your first pocket watch, you'll need to know that:.. 1. Hold down the button to open and close it, or else you will wear out the hitch that holds it shut. 2. When winding the watch, stop once you feel some resistance or you will damage the spring. 3. Over winding can cause it to jam, in which case you will need to open it up and manually start the spring.
