Dr Who the Master's Fob Watch Review

This version of the fob watch, unlike it's more toy version "The Doctor's Fob Watch" is of far better quality and worth the extra coin. It's got all metal casings and a bit more heft. In short, it holds all the qualities of a real, proper pocket watch, suitable for any occasion. It includes a light weight chain and clasp so it can be attached to a belt loop etc. and it has a flat finish much like the watch itself. The etchings on the watch case are clear, however there is no 'fill' and it looks almost too new. A bit of liver of sulfur or other blackening method with a light buff will really bring out the etching.

My only complaint is that with the thin, narrow hands it can be hard to read. The back light only stays lit for about 3 seconds and you may sometimes have to keep relighting the watch in the dark to make out the time. However, the light's hue is soft and comforting and it really makes the watch's face stand out. Overall, this is an excellent watch and prop replica. Steer clear of "The Doctor's Fob Watch" which is entirely plastic and spend the extra funds on this one; you won't regret it!
