Not just some spam fanboy review, I waited for almost a month before I wrote this.Edit: a few years later, still like it (10/2013)
Pros:
Beautiful silver watch
Keeps decent time
Good size
Durable (owned a month as of yet so we'll see)
mildly scratch resistant (not delicate, but not made of titanium either)
Price is right
Mechanical pocket-watch that's easy to wind
Cons (nitpicking):
Sideways clock (personal thing, I prefer 12 to be at the chain)
cannot view gears from the back, only from the clock-hand side
4 is IIII instead of IV (again, being picky)--EDIT: apparently it has to do with an old tradition, comment below goes into more detail
be careful with the clasp mechanism to close it, always press the release as you close it, you'll thank me for this later
Other thoughts:
Would love to see this in a rose gold/brass color
Despite the look of the pocket clip, it really does hold well
A bit more in depth:
The photos don't do this watch justice
Outter finish is mirrored at a perfect silver tone while the inside has a circle sanded texture, the gears all seem to work in harmony as clockwork should, giving the mechanics an almost lifelike feel. Gems and screws give a touch of color in addition to the silver and brass colored gears, quartz gems flashing and the screws have a purple (at least it was on mine) protective coating making them look as if someone had stuck an amethyst shard inside of the screw-hole.
Watch ticking noise is at a level where you can hear it if your ear is near it but it will not disturb you while it rests on a table or in your pocket
Time keeping: I set mine to the time clock (synced to a server) at work, this pocket-watch hasn't lost a single second as of yet (one month and continuing)
Ease of winding: very easy
How often to wind: no idea, I usually wind it every day but have gone almost two days without and it's kept going (not sure if that's normal or not)
Method for setting time is the same pull out end pin/twist method that most non-digital watches have
Comes with a manual
Comes with a catalog of other pocket-watches (so you can see how expensive every other watch this company makes is (up in thousands for some))
All in all, a great watch, I'd recommend it to anyone. Even on my tight budget, I do not regret this purchase at all
