AMPM24 Unique Men Magnifier Skeleton Mechanical Pocket Watch WPK023 Review

I took this out of its packaging, wound it up, and then noticed that the second hand had fallen off and was at the bottom of the watch, stuck against the inside of the glass (well plastic). Also, while the magnifier was made of glass, the actual front of the watch is plastic, and the product description says its glass, well they were only half right.

Also, the fit of the magnified glass and the rest of the watch is off, and so it over-hung on one side, while came up short on the other.

It was fairly easy to take this watch apart, but knowing where to mount the second hand is impossible unless you make watches. Anyway, you shouldn't have to do this when you pay good money for the watch.

It is also one of those watches that takes about 30 days to arrive (probably directly from China) and so I didn't want to go through all the hassle of returning it and waiting for a new one to arrive, and so I just removed the second hand, and will use this watch without it.

But buyer beware, it doesn't seems very sturdy.

I was somewhat disappointed with the size of the watch. However it seems this is about the average size for most watches that cost four or five times as much. The workmanship is excellent. It is beautiful and seems to be very well made. Of coarse because of the price I am concerned about longevity. But all in all it is a very nice piece for the money and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality. The movement is beautiful. I'm not sure of the number of jewels this watch has but I have seen at least three so far.

Skeleton Black Pocket Watch Chain Mechanical Hand Wind Half Hunter Vintage Look Value Quality with PU Leather Packing Box Review

Let me start by re-establishing the good of what's been said in this review's title. The watch looks good. The overall design of the exterior and what you can see of the interior is very appealing to the eye. The clear lense over the hour and minute hand is not glass, but what feels like cheap plastic. The cover that latches over it is still rather solid though.
However, my main problem with this pocket watch is that the amount of winding to keep it going is absurd, or at least the amount of times throughout the day I need to wind it and keep it functioning. The longest it's lasted on a wind (which, for reference, was a good 4 minutes of solid winding, although I have done more or less before) is about 4-6 hours before needing me to wind it again. I've read that good pocket watches actually show resistance after enough winds, but this one didn't seem to have one, or at the very least I didn't seem to notice.
Another problem, a minor complaint, is that when I first opened the watch, it had an adhesive cover over the plastic lense, obviously to prevent damage during shipping, despite being well protected in a leather box. Under this protective layer was a bit of dirt. I pulled the adhesive cover off, and washed off the watch lense with some hot water and soap.
Overall, if you want a good looking pocket watch, this isn't the worst option, but be aware that in terms of functionality, it could use a bit of a tune up
