Gotham Men's Silver-Tone Black Dial Covered Quartz Pocket Watch # GWC15042SB Review

Recieved a nice watch, in just a few days, at very low ship fees. You already know this is in reference to a pock watch. The button you push to open the case came off, within a couple month. What was exposed was a brass split stem ... which still allowed me to open the watch. I couldn't find the button, so I e-mail the company and ask them to send me a replacement button. I explained I am accustomed to finite work and could install a new button on the spine of the split stem. Gotham had other ideas ... they went the extra mile and I was TOTALLY satisfied with David's solution.

The watch is working fine, has very good color contrast for easy reading. I personally like the 12 rotated 90 degrees from the stem and the quality seems good for the price paid.

My watch is definitely exposed to the rigors of life. Although retired, I work on a Freight Dock 40+ hr/wk and help on a farm occassionally - not to mention my own 6 acres.

No problem with Amazon and very pleased with customer service from Gotham. Gotham did not even blink ... they had an immediate solution.

Pocket Watch Quartz Movement Bronze Tone Case Arabic Numerals with Chain Half Hunter Vintage Design PW-27 Review

I purchased this watch from another company on Amazon for $8 and even at that price I still feel ripped off. That company no longer sells this watch. I suspect because of all the complaints. Before they stopped selling it, they offered to let me keep it for free if I would not publish a negative review about the watch and and their company. I can tell by the picture that this is the exact same watch from the same maker. As a service to other Amazon customers I am publishing this review wherever I see this watch sold.

This watch is so cheap it is like a bad joke. The front crystal is plastic. When I tried to pull off the clear plastic sticker that was affixed to the watch to protect the plastic crystal, I pulled out the crystal with the sticker. The watch weighs almost nothing because the case is paper thin cast aluminum. The "bronze tone" on the watch is either the cheapest plating ever or paint. It is easily scratched down to the bare silver colored metal beneath with the slightest pressure. The cover does not open all the way and it does not snap closed when you try to close it. (You have to push the button to get it to close) The watch face is positioned wrong so that you have to hold it like a stopwatch to read it. (I got a different pocket-watch from China recently and it was the same way. Apparently the makers of these Chinese trash timepieces have never seen a real pocket-watch or don't care to make them like real pocket-watches. Lesson: Just don't buy pocket-watches made in China) The cheap quartz movement inside is the size of a dime and obviously made for a small woman's watch. The battery is microscopic and I've never seen one like it for sale in America. Bet it costs more than the watch to replace it. May as well mention, the watch was running on the battery when I got it, that means the battery has been running down since it was put in the watch. They didn't even put in a piece of removable plastic to preserve the battery life until the watch was started by the customer. This thing is like a child's toy. (That is if you want your child playing with something cheaply made in China that is probably covered in lead paint and will break in seconds) I can't say enough bad things about this watch because there is nothing good to say about it. I see this watch being sold for over $20 by some companies on Amazon. They should give it away for free as an apology for the insult of just thinking of taking your money for it. (The way the company I bought it from did) Save yourself the time, trouble and cost of shipping it back after you get it and see it is worthless. Just don't buy this watch at any price.

Charles-Hubert, Paris Two-Tone Mechanical Pocket Watch Review

I bought this watch so I wouldn't need to change watch batteries anymore, and this is just perfect. The watch opens just as far as is shown in the picture and it is just as beautiful, possibly more, as it looks. It is a wonderful time piece, plus it comes with a lifetime warranty, but that's only for the inner workings, and a 1 year warranty for the casing. Thus far I've had this watch for a good couple of months and it keeps perfect time. If properly wound it can keep time for nearly the whole day. Plus the watch comes in a lovely box and in the box the watch is in a pretty little pouch and the watch chain that it comes with is just as gorgeous as the watch itself. Not to mention the lovely little ticking it has when properly wound. All in all this is thus far my favorite pocket watch.

Engraved Pocket Watch Review

My reactions when I first saw this watch were: 1)Impressed, 2) a little bummed and then finally 3) satisfied.

I bought this watch for my best man and had it engraved for him with his name on it. When I received this watch, the front was very bland. It just had his name engraved on it, in a standard, very readable font that i didn't get to choose. This watch is small, smaller than what you traditionally think of when you think of a pocket watch, about 1 inch across is right.

However, this watch's small size doesn't detract from it's durability, this feels like a well made watch, it has good weight and the chain is also very sturdy and doesn't leave anything lacking. The watch face is nothing fancy as you can see from the picture, it looks kind of cheap upon close inspection, but like I said, it holds up. The watch hands aren't cheap and are very sturdy, and the watch face was also firmly attached. I think the only thing lacking from this pocket watch was that it was a little TOO bland.
