If you've bought some of the cheaper "leather" straps, by now you'll see what the deal is. The *liner* is genuine leather, but the outside is vinyl or something. Very cheap, and they feel it. Don't expect to get a good strap for less than $20 or $25.

These are the real deal. Hadley-Roma has figured out that we're smart enough to know what we want. I'm not some poor communist who makes $2 a week and has to settle for a vinyl watch strap. I can afford a good quality $25 one every few years. They feel ever so much better than vinyl on the wrist, and even better than a solid link bracelet, too. (although they are not quite as durable)

This particular strap is well suited to gold tone watches. I put mine on my grandfather's 1942 Benrus that his aunt gave to him as a going-away gift for WW2. I had the watch refurbished at great expense, and now I finally have a classy strap to go with it.

The lizard scales are glossy, and have the same level of class as the gold tone buckle.

There are other strap makers whose straps are thicker for fancier, but it is mostly flash. This is a good, solid product.

Great strap overall. This is not my first Hadley-Roma strap, and it will not be my last.
